PURCHASE HEALTH PARTNERS

Purchase Health Partners (PHP) is a not for profit membership corporation created in 1996 in response to local business and industry request for a regional network. Ownership is 50% Western Baptist Hospital and 50% Purchase Physicians’ Organization, an IPA of providers in Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois. The Board of PHP is comprised of 3 physician representatives from the IPA and 3 representatives from Western Baptist Hospital.

PHP is a non-exclusive regional network primarily serving the Purchase Area and Massac County in Illinois and currently has approximately 500 providers including, but not limited to, physicians, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, and physical therapists and includes Western Baptist Hospital. The network provides insurance carriers, TPAs and self-funded employers easy access to a credentialed network of providers thereby helping to reduce administrative expense. Credentialing is done through Purchase Physicians’ Organization.

PHP operates according to a messenger model which permits providers to select individually the contracts in which they wish to participate.

PHP is currently contracted with BeechStreet, Bluegrass Family Health, Center Care. Choice Care, Community Care Network, Direct Care America, First Health, Great West Life, HealthAlliance, Healthlink, Mennonites, Private Healthcare Systems and ppoNext.
